Today: Rain, spoiling my plans.
For a few summers I could not get away for a week-end without getting soaked.
That’s okay. I can deal.
O Rain,
you subdue me.
You confine me.
O Universe,
would it be so heinous
if I walked in the sun?
Yet you build walls of water
to fence me in.
How wild can I be
when it’s always raining?
Wrapped in civilized vinyl
I view the soggy blooms
and lift my dripping arms to Spring.
